New Year’s Eve is my absolute favorite time to get glammed up for a night out. Even if it’s just going to a party at a friend’s place, I love an excuse to wear sequins and bright red lipstick.
This dress was actually a hand-me-down from a friend but I’m linking some of my favorite sequin stripes down below. Enjoy the scroll!
I have a rule of avoiding driving at all costs on NYE so I only go to places where I can walk or take public transit. This outfit is perfect for walking. Those are fleece lined leggings keeping me nice and toasty!
Check back on Thursday for my second NYE look!

“If truth is beauty, how come no one has their hair done in the library?” -Lily Tomlin
Getting my lazy bum out of bed and to work on a Sunday can be a trial. But with the help of a cute outfit (and some coffee), being a Sunday Librarian is a much easier feat to tackle.
This is totally another great way to use the separate pieces from the two piece set I wore to the Be Buddha Jewelry Launch Party. The skirt is just perfect for work, particularly given its length. As much as I love shorter skirts, they are just not suited for library work.

You read about the launch party for Be Buddha Jewelry on Monday. Here’s the details from my outfit for the day.
This amazing two-piece set is a Forever 21 find. I was super surprised to find it but seriously pleased! This is the first and only crop top I’ve ever owned/tried and I’m actually really shocked at how much I love it. I would totally pair it with some other pieces in my wardrobe (read: my high-waisted black shorts!) throughout the rest of summer. It’s amazing!
The shoes are the ones I wore to Simply Stylist, as featured in this post but I didn’t really elaborate on them. These are from Topshop and were not the shoes I went out looking for. I was looking for these lace up flats, actually. But then I saw these and knew that they were the ones. I love them dearly and have been wearing them every day.
My hair was done by my amazing fiancee, Sarah. She loves playing with hair and braiding and this was a great opportunity to try something new. It’s two dutch braids twirled together into an off-center bun at the back. Kept my hair out of my face on a particularly hot day (not friendly for curls) and left my ears open to show off the amazing Be Buddha earrings I got.

The above quote is the best description of someone’s Instagram account I have ever heard. Joey Maalouf’s description of Jacey Duprie, to be specific. And they make my favorite takeaway from the entire conference: just be you! I like to think I do that anyway but it was nice to have that reminder.
As promised, outfit details from the day below. I went with this stripe pleated midi skirt from t+j designs paired with, get this, a dress. Yep, that top is a dress! I couldn’t figure out the right top to wear with the skirt- I wanted to do a graphic T but that felt too casual. I waffled for a good ling while before finally arriving at using the top from the dress and just tucking the rest into the skirt. The result? One of my favorite looks in my closet right now!

I somehow magically managed to survive tech week! My show is open and on its feet and I couldn’t be happier. This is always my favorite part of the process- the run of the show. Rehearsals are fun and all and it’s a great time to get to know everyone but the run of the show is when I feel like I really get to connect with my cast. It’s also when I’m more in my element. Working as a stagehand for so long, I’m so much better at actual performances instead of rehearsal. So this next month is going to be super great!
This look came out of “today was gloomy. tomorrow is going to be gloomy. damnit, I want to look super cute and combat the gloom!”
The skirt is ancient- from sometime in college. But it’s got an awesome pattern and pockets. so it remains a staple in my closet. It came from Kohl’s once upon a time.
This necklace is my new go-to. It’s simple, elegant, and adds the perfect amount of sparkle to any outfit!
Cheers to some sunny weather coming up and a killer weekend!

I totally get why everyone loves pastels and light floral patterns and stuff for easter but I’m all about bold colors and patterns. So I pulled this Francesca’s dress out of my closet for the celebrations today. It’s from two years ago but continues to be a favorite of mine. Paired with this H&M denim jacket and an Aldo necklace, and we’re all set for a picnic on the beach!
Everyone was looking extra cute today. Check out Sarah’s new haircut!
Zoe loves going for super long beach walks. She gets to run and chase other dogs and some birds! Her little doggy idea of heaven.
Alas, it was a bit too chilly when we finally got out there. So we took our photos, ran Zoe ragged, then came back inside and has our picnic on our living room floor instead.
“You’re pretty. I’m taking a photo of your face”
Flash sales are a dangerous thing for me. Ann Taylor Loft had one this past weekend and I caved and got this blouse (It’s still on sale!). It is hands down the best purchase I have made in a long time. It’s lightweight, classic with a twist, and matches so much in my wardrobe. I’m thinking of doing a series of posts styling it three different ways. Thoughts?

It’s SO NICE OUTSIDE! If spring isn’t here, it’s doing a really good job of faking it. I’ve been waiting for an excuse to wear these shoes for a while now. The weather finally warmed up enough to justify it!
