It’s March! You know that that means. New mental health goal to work on.
Last month’s goal of moving more hasn’t been going quite as well as I’d hoped but I’m still definitely moving more than I used to. The 5 flights of stairs to get to my apartment is easier, I can run for longer with the dog, and I generally feel better. But Netflix and Chill is still my natural state on days off. Baby steps, right?
This month, I’m working on water. I haven’t been drinking enough water at all. As of late, it’s been coffee time until wine time. Lather, rinse, repeat. I have a Victoria’s Secret gigantic water bottle that holds something like 20 oz of water and my goal is to drink at least 1 1/2 of these each day. Water is necessary to existing and I truly think that drinking more of it and using it to flush my system and keep things fresh will help my overall mental state. We’ll see how this goes!
Back at the beginning of the year, I mentioned my goal for the year was to get my mental health in order. For the month of January, I made myself get into the habit of making my bed every single day. That’s just ingrained in my morning routine now. So February is for a new goal: get moving every single day. Living on the 5th floor, I have it relatively easy. Beyond being able to take the stairs, Zoe and I have been going on really long beach walks the last few days (follow along on snapchat! Username dannie54) and I’m aiming to get back into yoga again. Fingers crossed!
Any other suggestions to work getting moving again into my daily routine? I’d love to hear them!

It’s been so so cold here lately! I legit celebrated yesterday that it was above 20 degrees F! Cold means bundling up and, more often than not, staying inside and making up excuses to never leave home ever again.
Add to the cold, I haven’t been sleeping well at all. 3:30 and I have become way more familiar with each other than I would like. I feel like a zombie. Coffee has been being consumed by the gallon over here. The other day, I slept all the way until 5:30 and was so excited that I’d slept so long I couldn’t make myself fall back asleep at all! Oops. At least there’s warm puppies and heated blankets to make the wee hours of the morning a little less bearable, right?
