I love finding hidden gems and local art, especially when it’s right around places I frequent all the time. This amazing wall is right in Andersonville across from one of my favorite coffee shops! I hadn’t noticed it at all until another blogger included this wall in a list of great walls to photo in front of. So of course I had to go take photos right away!
This cardigan is an absolute favorite of mine as of late. It’s super soft, nice and warm, and is neutral with a nice unexpected element in the horizontal stripes around the bottom so it’s great for work.
In other news, I have a super awesome deal for you guys! I’ve partnered with the Refuge Theatre Project this year. That means you guys get discounts to their shows. The Refuge Theatre Project strives to utilize the appeal of musical theatre to foster a broader and more accessible theatre community. They take everything that is awesome about musical theatre and make it smaller, more local, and more engaging.
What do I have for you guys? $5 off tickets to their next production, High Fidelity! The show runs Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from January 29th through February 28th. This link will take you right to the ticket page and put in the discount code for you. But just in case, it’s “ChiBlog.”
“Rob’s girlfriend has left him, and although the split does not make his list of top-five breakups, he is determined to find out what he did to sour the relationship.”
With it’s BYOB policy and the Wicker Park vibe, Refuge Theatre Project’s season opener is not to be missed!

I somehow magically managed to survive tech week! My show is open and on its feet and I couldn’t be happier. This is always my favorite part of the process- the run of the show. Rehearsals are fun and all and it’s a great time to get to know everyone but the run of the show is when I feel like I really get to connect with my cast. It’s also when I’m more in my element. Working as a stagehand for so long, I’m so much better at actual performances instead of rehearsal. So this next month is going to be super great!
This look came out of “today was gloomy. tomorrow is going to be gloomy. damnit, I want to look super cute and combat the gloom!”
The skirt is ancient- from sometime in college. But it’s got an awesome pattern and pockets. so it remains a staple in my closet. It came from Kohl’s once upon a time.
This necklace is my new go-to. It’s simple, elegant, and adds the perfect amount of sparkle to any outfit!
Cheers to some sunny weather coming up and a killer weekend!

I’ll be the first to admit when I think a word is strange. Shooties is currently at the top of that list. Can we just continue to call these booties and be done with it? Sure, they don’t have the ankle coverage of a bootie but they still have a similar enough look that I really don’t think a whole new category is necessary for them. Oh well.
I fell in love with these beauties and have been eyeing them for a while now. When a pair of shoes has me thinking about them nearly constantly, I take it as a sign that they need to join the collection. And these were no exception. They’re adorable! And astoundingly comfortable. The insole has memory foam in them so I can wear them all day. They’ve quickly become my fall favorite.
