The second New Year’s Eve post! Going even more glam than the last outfit for this one. All rose gold sequins all the time. This is absolutely one of my favorite dresses. The color is just perfect!
Accessorized this outfit with my amazing AIBI watch because someone has to keep an eye on the countdown to midnight, right? And the rose gold detail on the watch matches the sequins in the dress just perfectly.

Neighborhood exploring is easily my favorite thing to do. Now that the weather has gotten nice enough to be outside for more than the time it takes the dog to do her thing and go back in, Sarah and I have really been spending time getting to know our neighborhood. Exploring boutiques, eating at local restaurants, visiting small pet stores, etc.! It was thus, we discovered Independent Spirits, Inc.
The little boutique is WONDERFUL. My adult beverages of choice are wine, beer, and whiskey (specifically single malt scotch whiskey from the Highlands). Independent Spirits, Inc. specializes in two of those- wine and whiskey. Needless to say, finding this place is both seriously exciting and incredibly dangerous.
We popped in to the store after our sushi date night at Indie Cafe. This place is right next door! What better way to end a date night than with a nice bottle of wine at home relaxing? So we poked out heads in and discovered not only a glorious selection but a simply beautiful interior.
The wine is sorted by country and type. Want a merlot from the US? Look for the map of the States then find your Merlot. Whiskey was sorted by type of whiskey. I quickly found the Scotch section. The one thing I wish they’d done is sort the single malt stuff by region. Glenlivet and Laphroaig are very different based entirely upon region.
We settled on a nice rich merlot from the US to take home, broke out some glasses, and settled in for a movie to end our evening.
Independent Spirits, Inc. hosts tastings periodically. I fully intend to pop in for one. Prepare for that post.
I somehow magically managed to survive tech week! My show is open and on its feet and I couldn’t be happier. This is always my favorite part of the process- the run of the show. Rehearsals are fun and all and it’s a great time to get to know everyone but the run of the show is when I feel like I really get to connect with my cast. It’s also when I’m more in my element. Working as a stagehand for so long, I’m so much better at actual performances instead of rehearsal. So this next month is going to be super great!
This look came out of “today was gloomy. tomorrow is going to be gloomy. damnit, I want to look super cute and combat the gloom!”
The skirt is ancient- from sometime in college. But it’s got an awesome pattern and pockets. so it remains a staple in my closet. It came from Kohl’s once upon a time.
This necklace is my new go-to. It’s simple, elegant, and adds the perfect amount of sparkle to any outfit!
Cheers to some sunny weather coming up and a killer weekend!

I am such a whiny baby when it comes to being sick. A small case of the sniffles and I instantly become that person walking around with a box of kleenex attached to my hip. But I usually at least tough it out. This entire last week, I was entirely out of commission for most of the week. Friday, though, I finally felt good enough to get out of the house. And go directly to rehearsal for a choir concert. So I celebrated with some bright spring colors!
These ear jackets are my new favorite accessory. I’ve worn them every singly chance I get. They’re sold out (from Purple Peridot!) but I found a similar pair here.
The shoes were initially bought solely for this choir concert. But, come on, look at how great they are. These have been worn way more often. Find them here!
I’m totally cheating with this skirt. It’s actually a dress that I just threw a chambray over the top of. It’f from Forever 21 from like two years ago. Hi-low skirts aren’t even a thing any more but they’re my favorite. So I’m going to continue to wear them.
It feels SO GOOD to be up and out again. Spring has temporarily gone back into hiding but at least it’s definitely on its way.
