I’ve been feeling in a rut lately. I couldn’t even begin to describe it if I wanted to, though. It’s this restlessness as though I’m waiting for a million things to happen and none of them can happen yet. Which, to be fair, there are a bunch of things waiting to happen (read: wedding. October. ahh!) but there feels like more lately. I blame this Chicago spring. I’m ready for it to be warm and sunny but we have to make a pit stop at chilly and rainy first and I’m just not about it.
Mental health goal for April is run. I’ve got Couch to 5k on my phone, I’ve got a plan, I’m ready to go! Let’s see if I actually stick to it. So far, everything has been going well. I just need the weather to snap into summer and I’ll be good to go!
This necklace is from a site called ILYMIX. They have amazing statement necklaces and stacking rings and so much more. And if you use code “stile20” at checkout, you get 20% off your shiny new pieces! Sounds like a sweet deal to me. I’ve loved the quality of everything I’ve worn so far so I can solidly say they’re great.
Disclaimer: I received this piece and two others for promotion.

Back at the beginning of the year, I mentioned my goal for the year was to get my mental health in order. For the month of January, I made myself get into the habit of making my bed every single day. That’s just ingrained in my morning routine now. So February is for a new goal: get moving every single day. Living on the 5th floor, I have it relatively easy. Beyond being able to take the stairs, Zoe and I have been going on really long beach walks the last few days (follow along on snapchat! Username dannie54) and I’m aiming to get back into yoga again. Fingers crossed!
Any other suggestions to work getting moving again into my daily routine? I’d love to hear them!

The above quote is the best description of someone’s Instagram account I have ever heard. Joey Maalouf’s description of Jacey Duprie, to be specific. And they make my favorite takeaway from the entire conference: just be you! I like to think I do that anyway but it was nice to have that reminder.
As promised, outfit details from the day below. I went with this stripe pleated midi skirt from t+j designs paired with, get this, a dress. Yep, that top is a dress! I couldn’t figure out the right top to wear with the skirt- I wanted to do a graphic T but that felt too casual. I waffled for a good ling while before finally arriving at using the top from the dress and just tucking the rest into the skirt. The result? One of my favorite looks in my closet right now!

Spring has really and truly officially arrived in Chicago. And by that I mean today is properly rained instead of snowing. And construction vehicles are out in full force. My favorite joke about Chicago weather is that we have four seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction. We’re finally moving out of Still Winter and into Construction which means it’s going to rain a lot but not be cold anymore!
Alas, with rain comes the struggle to find places to shoot. So these photos are less than ideal. It doesn’t help that it’s incredibly difficult to lug a proper camera around downtown while working so I’m stuck with the best camera app I can find for my phone. But we all make do with what we got, right?
We were specifically asked to look extra nice today (read: no jeans) because of filming going on in the office. This is my way of keeping it classy and still bringing that spring brightness into the office with me.
The skirt is actually a Topshop dress I found on the clearance rack last August. The top did not fit in any way shape or form so I turned it into a skirt instead. The print was too great to pass up!
